Lynn M. Petrovich, CPA/MBA, aka “The Green CPA,” is an advocate for low income taxpayer equality. She currently runs a year-round IRS-sponsored tax clinic in a low-income community at the Jersey Shore where she meets “the most wonderfully diverse and engaging citizens of this nation.” Recently, she authored a widely acclaimed op-ed titled featuring her personal experience and befuddlement with hospital accounting practices.

Lynn is also a founding member of CPAs for Community Support, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose educational mission is to work within families and communities to bring about financial awareness regarding credit cards (interest rates, fees, penalties, no-interest come ons), student loan debt, and other unsecured liabilities (payday loan scams) which often lead to stress, strain, and debilitating illnesses.  In her current campaign, Lynn has been working with college graduates, helping them understand and navigate their student loans, repayment options, and programs.

Meet the Team Behind the People's Tax Clinic

Katrina Petrovich, Esq.,  has a unique background that qualifies her to not only work with taxpayers, but to understand and unravel the complex relationship between taxpayers and tax law. Katrina holds a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, a JD from the Rutgers School of Law - Newark, and most recently received  an LLM in Taxation and Estate Law at Temple University’s Beasley School of Law. She is an avid believer in legal equity between the classes, and wants to provide typically high-cost tax and legal services to taxpayers who may be unable – or afraid – to obtain them.

In conjunction with academic studies on tax law, Katrina has spent countless hours as a volunteer tax return preparer in Asbury Park, NJ, where she was given a front-row seat to the complicated and heartbreaking world of low-income taxpayers. She had the privilege of assisting these taxpayers work through oft-complicated tax situations, many times helping them to arrive at a positive outcome. Moving forward, Katrina looks forward to working with elderly and low-income taxpayers in matters of tax controversy issues.
